Vietnamese youth and students in Beijing are active and united

The Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Overseas Vietnamese Student and the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association in Beijing for the 2018-2020 period were organized in Beijing, China on June 10th.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association in Beijing Dinh The Phuc read a report about student movements and youth operation of overseas Vietnamese students in Beijing in the 2016-2018 period and the operational direction for the next term.

The report showed that, apart from upholding the traditional strength in study and scientific research, as well as sports, cultural and art activities, overseas Vietnamese students have also boosted charitable and community activities as well as toward the homeland, such as the Lunar New Year Festival 2017, activities raising funds of VND100 million to support flood victims in Quang Binh province and organizing a program to welcome Tet for local people in Duong Thuong commune, Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province.      

With nearly 400 members from 30 universities, colleges and institutes, the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association in Beijing has understood aspirations of youth union members and students, providing timely support to uphold the pioneer role of Overseas Vietnamese Student Associations in China’s localities.

In terms of direction for the new term, the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association in Beijing aims to build a strong and united overseas Vietnamese student organization and widely gather all classes of Vietnamese students and youth in Beijing.

At the event, Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy to China Pham Thanh Binh highly appreciated the achievements the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association in Beijing has gained over the past time.

He emphasized that the Embassy would create the best conditions for activities of the association and offer maximum support to address any necessary procedures or issues overseas Vietnamese students facing in their life and study in China.

Mr. Pham Thanh Binh hoped that in the coming time, the association would continue to innovate and consolidate its personnel and operation to attract the participation of Vietnamese students in China.

The executive boards of the Overseas Vietnamese Student Association and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnamese students in Beijing for the 2018-2020 period were elected at the event./.
