Destinations in Hoi An city welcome spouses of APEC member economies’ leaders

Traditional destinations which are symbolic in Quang Nam province’s Hoi An city, including the Pagoda Bridge and silk villages, will welcome the spouses of APEC member economies’ leaders.

As planned, on November 11th, spouses of economic delegations’ heads, ministers and heads of representative agencies from APEC member economies will arrive at the Hoai river square for visiting the heritage city.

Cars are forbidden in many ancient streets; however, on this occasion, vehicles serving APEC are given priority. Some streets have been repaired to serve the important event.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Nguyen Thai Hoc streets are decorated with lanterns.

The history of the Pagoda Bridge will be introduced to visitors.

A symbol of Hoi An city, Pagoda Bridge was built in the 17th century by Japanese traders. In 1990, it was recognized a national historic and cultural relic.

The 18-metre pagoda, built by wood on brick and stone piles, was recognized as a relic with special architecture.

Coming to Hoi An Silk Village, visitors will have a chance to experience traditional silk production.
