6 months: Quang Ninh greets 7.5 million tourists

The number of tourists to Quang Ninh reached an estimated 7.5 million in the first half of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 26%, in which 2.46 million are foreigners, up 14%, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Total tourism turnover posted VND12.78 trillion, a 31% rise over a year earlier.
In the first months of the year, the northern locality focused on intensifying tourism promotion activities and domestic demand stimulus, such as organizing the opening ceremony of 2018 National Tourism Year, Carnival program and a series of events within the framework of the National Tourism Year.
Service establishments at tourist attractions, landscapes and parks, and new tourism products put into use, contributed to creating special highlights and increased attractiveness for the locality.
Quang Ninh also piloted self-driving tourist cars through Mong Cai international border gate to Ha Long city, and enhanced state management on tourism business environment and ships on Ha Long bay./.
