More than 20ha of mangrove forest planted in Quang Ninh

In order to adapt to climate change, protect coastal dykes and prevent erosion of coastal tidal flats, the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Hai Ha district’s Quang Minh commune have organized to plant a mangrove forest in Quang Minh commune.

The mangrove forest has been planted on 20ha from September 5th to 20th with about 32,000 rhizophora apiculata trees and kandelia candel trees.
The project will play an important role in protect, prevent, respond and reduce damage caused by natural disasters.
At the same time, it also raises local people’s awareness about protecting mangrove forest, fishery resources to contribute to regulate climate, prevent storms, floods, tides and salt intrusion, as well as groundwater resource./.
