Tran Phu pedestrian street in Mong Cai city, the northern province of Quang Ninh, started its operation in May, 2015 and expanded to its neighbor, Hoa Lac street in April, 2016.

The whole pedestrian zone stretching about two kilometers opens at 19h30 and close at 22h00 from every Wednesday to Sunday. Closing time may be later during holidays and at weekends.

In addition to the fixed shops, there are more mobile stalls offering clothes, souvenirs and other diverse items. More impressively, Vietnamese and Chinese traditional foods are introduced at the street.

Especially on holidays, cultural and artistic activities and entertainment events often attract many local people and visitors.

This street is car-free, serves as a meeting place, and provides space for commerce, music, art, and other community activities. This is one of a wide range of programs aiming to promote the city’s tourist products and services until 2020, with a vision to 2030.

Locals and tourists have a chance to visit Quang Ninh One Commune One Product (OCOP) kiosks which display and sell a wide range of the province’s specialties, and enjoy performances by street music bands.

Visitors often find it awesome to enjoy various services along the street or simply walk along the park on the bank of beautiful Ka Long river and capture some pictures of a dynamic Mong Cai at night.

In addition, the street is also fully equipped with utilities such as free wifi, security cameras, and toilets.
