According to Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture and Sports, there are 613 historical, cultural and scenic relics in the province, including 5 special national relics, 54 national relics, 83 provincial relics and nearly 500 inventory and classified relics.
Localities have been interested in organizing research projects to collect and restore festivals on the basis of documents and what people told. Scientific research projects on different types of festivals have met the cultural needs of the people and attracted the participation of all classes of people. These include the collection and restoration of the festivals of the San Diu ethnic group in Van Don district and of San Chay ethnic group in Tien Yen district.
Recognizing the role and importance of cultural heritage conservation in socio-economic development, along with promoting dissemination to raise awareness of the people, the province often pays attention to the preservation of relics and heritages in association with preservation and promotion of intangible heritage values. With the investment capital from the State budget and mobilized from socialization, many relics have been invested, preserved and restored according to regulations of the State.
The province has also paid attention to promoting the value of intangible cultural heritages with 361 inventory heritages. Since 2015, four local intangible cultural heritages have been included in the list of national cultural heritages, including Tien Cong Festival, Cua Ong Temple Festival, folk singing at the temple and Then ritual of Tay ethnic people. Many programs and projects related to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage have been implemented effectively such as researching and restoring folk singing and Luc Na Temple Festival in Binh Lieu district, and folk singing of Dao ethnic group.
In addition, cultural and artistic activities at clubs in some localities have been maintained and developed to meet the enjoyment of the people such as: Dao singing club in Ha Long city, and Then singing club of Tay ethnic group in Binh Lieu district.
The province identifies the intangible cultural heritage system as one of the important resources to support and develop the tourism industry, creating sustainable development. Many localities and businesses focus on investing in service infrastructure to attract tourists, contributing to preserving and promoting better the value of cultural heritages./.
