60 border guards contributing to educational cause to be honoured

A group of 60 border guards who teach, encourage children to go to school, and make contribution to educational cause in border areas and islands, and are loved by local parents, will be honored at the program on sharing with teachers.

The information was released at a press briefing held in Hanoi on July 11th, by the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, the High Commands of the Border Guard, the Military Youth Committee, and Thien Long Group.

Each border guard will be presented savings worth VND10 million, a certificate of merit of the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee, a symbol of the program and other commendations by the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Education and Training.

In the framework of the program, in September, the organizing board will visit border guards who do educational work to share their difficulties.

The ceremony to honor border guards will be held on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day in Hanoi in November.

Addressing the press briefing, secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and president of Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee Nguyen Phi Long said that the border guard is working in the most disadvantaged areas of the country to preserve territorial integrity and protect national sovereignty in the border areas and islands. They also make great contribution to the cause of education and training for young generations, taking care of children from disadvantaged families.

In 2015 and 2016, the program honored 106 outstanding teachers at schools from 64 poor districts and schools on islands in island districts./.
