Australian Embassy meets Vietnamese students after graduation

The Australian Embassy in Hanoi on May 11th held a program to welcome Vietnamese students who have graduated in Australia.

They are 60 among more than 5,800 students who received Endeavour scholarships and scholarships from the Australian government and will make remarkable contributions to socio-economic development in Vietnam.

Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick said that the two sides have promoted cooperation in economics, commerce and energy industry. The Australian government has carried out scholarship programmes with Vietnam since 1975.

There are about 50,000 Vietnamese students who have studied in Australia.

Over the past four decades, Australia has provided 4,000 scholarships to Vietnamese students. Vietnam ranks 7th in countries receiving scholarships in economics from Australia. About 22,500 Vietnamese students and graduates are currently studying in Australia./.
