Coronavirus: China reports 89 additional deaths, bringing global dealth to 813

On February 9th, the National Health Commission of People's Republic of China reported that that the total number of deaths in the country has reached 811 — that’s 89 more deaths than a day earlier. That brings the global death toll to 813 — including one in the Philippines and another in Hong Kong (China).

The website of the National Health Commission updated that 2,656 new cases were confirmed. This brings the total number to 37,198 in China.

Hubei province reported an additional 81 deaths and another 2,147 new cases as of February 8th. It brings the cumulative number of deaths in the province to 780, and total confirmed cases to 27,100.

The number of deaths from the mysterious virus is almost equivalent to the number of deaths from SARS in 2002-2003./.
