Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented 100 bikes and 100 scholarships (VND1 million each) to disadvantaged local children.

This is part of the VND3.6 billion-program on presenting 1,700 bikes and 1,700 school-bags to poor but hard-working students nationwide, sponsored by BaoViet Life.

At the event, a representative from BaoViet Life presented VND300 million to support disadvantaged kids from Northern Hung Yen province.

Since 2004, the "Education-bicycle welfare scholarship" program has awarded over 10,000 scholarships and 12,000 gifts, with a total capital of VND10 billion, to help disadvantaged children throughout the nation.

Statistics showed that over 200,000 students give up their studies each year due to lack of transportation and school supplies. The program encourages disadvantaged children from remote areas to attend school and to perform well academically./.
