(CPV) - Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd, charity fund groups Vemba5 and Ella on December 16th co-organized a ceremony to hand over the Hoa Si Pan kindergarten, a branch of the Ta Van kindergarten, Ta Van commune, Quan Ba district, nation's northeast Ha Giang province.

Located in one of the border-belt communes of Quan Ba district, many local children have to walk up more than half of the hill to study in classrooms which were assembled from pieces of wood, covered by flimsy canvas hoping to shield block from the sun, wind and rain. School amenities and facilities were not only deficient, but also run down severely by inclement weather.

Understanding such challenges, sponsors have supported the construction of three spacious classrooms, one auxiliary work to ensure hygiene (worth around VND485 million), and donated many toys and 60 gift sets composed of learning tools and candy for pupils.

During the ceremony, Mr. Sawa Shunji - Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd General Director said: “The achievement and values that we are making today will be the precious values for the next generation; and the next generation will be the ones who preserve and support those values. Therefore, a good education base is an essential element for the children to “sharpen” themselves and become our successors who follow and develop our values. Carrying on our “Kyosei” philosophy, I myself and all Canon members in Vietnam are extremely proud to be able to provide a better learning environment for Ta Van kindergarten’s pupils to continue their journey toward a better life”.

While Ms. Lenh Thi Van, Head master of Ta Van kindergarten, expressed her thanks to Canon, saying that the construction should create a good facility for teachers and pupils, as well as pupils’ parents in taking care of their children while they study.

Since 2007, the Japanese company has supported 99 primary schools nationwide via the construction of new classrooms, teacher rooms and qualified toilets and washing areas. It also equips the project beneficiaries with cameras, printers, computers, book-shelves and bunk beds with a view to improving teaching and studying environment for teachers and students in disadvantaged areas./.
