"In addition to those linked to Bach Mai hospital, citizens returning home from abroad or those who have been displaying signs of the infection such as a dry cough, a sore throat, and a fever, can be sampled for testing," the municipal leader stated.

The Department of Health has been asked to clearly display information regarding the quick testing sites located around the capital on its Smart City website in an effort to make it easier for the city’s residents to have their samples taken in due course, Mayor Chung said.

With extra testing sites coming into operation, the Mayor also urged working groups of the Hanoi Centers for Disease Control to begin operating at full capacity in a bid to be prepared to meet the extra demand among citizens for rapid testing.

The municipal leader added that so far Hanoi has done well to keep the epidemic in check, calling on people to properly implement measures as proposed, adding that the capital plans to provide sufficient food and essential goods for residents to ensure stable prices.

As of 5 pm on April 1st , a total of 537 people had undergone quick testing, with three suspected cases of the virus being detected. In an instance where a possible positive case is detected, the patient will have their throat fluids taken for further testing./.
