The second APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM 2) and related meetings began in Hanoi on May 9th.
To provide healthcare for participants, the Ministry of Health arranged two groups of healthcare workers from the Bach Mai and Vietnam - Germany hospitals to be on duty for health issues at the event.

Two experts in the field of cardiovascular and active recuperation, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Manh Cuong, Deputy Head of the National Heart Institute under Bach Mai hospital, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Quoc Tuan, Deputy Head of Department of Intensive Care, will be present at the event and are willing to give consultancy and support.
Mr. Cuong said that providing healthcare for participants of SOM2 and APEC 2017 in general is the honour and responsibility of healthcare workers from Bach Mai hospital. Despite of overload at the hospital, healthcare workers will serve for over two weeks.
In addition, at hotels where participants stay, the Ministry of Health and Hanoi Department of Health also arrange healthcare workers to be on duty./.
