Ho Chi Minh city launches ICT competition

The Ho Chi Minh city Department of Information and Communications launched its 9th information technology – communications competition during a press briefing on August 9th.

This is the official competition annually held by the city People’s Committee.

According to Director of the city Department of Information and Communications Duong Anh Duc, 2017 was chosen as the year for the project on building Ho Chi Minh city into a smart city in the 2017-2020 period with a vision until 2025 on the foundation of the application of information technology and communications. “Therefore, the department has chosen the competition theme highlighting the city’s target to develop on the foundation of digital technology,” he said.

The competition aims to discover and honour outstanding information technology and communications products and solutions which have positive influence on the city’s socio-economic development, thus contributing to increasing the city residents’ living quality and building the city into a smart and modern city with rapid and sustainable development.

The awards will be presented to businesses with outstanding software products and solutions; businesses with outstanding hardware products; businesses providing outstanding value added services; agencies applying information technology and communications; agencies and individuals gaining excellent achievements in the city development of information technology and communications; and information technology and communications students with excellent academic results.

The award ceremony is expected to be held on November 24th./.
