Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee will work with the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam to organize the city Innovation, Start-up and Entrepreneurship Week (WHISE) 2017 from October 23rd-28th.

Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the city Department of Science and Technology, said that this will be the largest event of the year in innovation, science and technology and start-up. “WHISE aims to honour collectives and individuals who have active contribution to innovation and start-up, gather successful start-up models to communities, and link social resources to promote innovation and start-up activities in the city,” he added.
Diverse events will be held under WHISE 2017, including workshops and talks, as well as review of contests on innovation and start-up, and links between businesses and start-up students.
During the week, an exhibition on technology and an innovation and start-up with 150 stalls for start-up businesses’ products will also take place on October 27th-28th, which aim to share visions and orientations on the development of innovation and start-up in accordance with the city’s socio-economic development.
WHISE 2017 involves the participation of State agencies, institutes, schools, businesses and foundations, and is expected to create a strong development in expanding start-up ecosystem, looking towards to the establishment of an innovation and start-up city./.
