Mr. Vo Van Thuong presents scholarships to poor students

Mr Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, PCC Secretary and head of the PCC Commission for Popularization and Education, on September 11th attended the inauguration ceremony of Song Phu high school in Song Phu commune, Tam Binh district, the southern province of Vinh Long, and presented 50 scholarships to poor students.

Song Phu high school was built on an area of about 17,500m2 with an investment of VND122 billion. The construction started on March 31st, 2017 and was completed after nearly six months.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia recognized the efforts of Vinh Long provincial educational sector over the past years. The school is inaugurated on the occasion of the new school year to create the best conditions for students’ learning at school.
Ms Nghia asked the school managing board to continue renovating its management, pay attention to training and cultivation to improve their profession and capacity to meet requirements in high school education renovation. Besides, the Deputy Minister also urged the school to attach special importance to teaching ethics and life skills for students and renovate teaching methods.
Also at the ceremony, delegates and donors donated VND3 billion to Vinh Long provincial Study Promotion Fund and 300 scholarships worth VND300 million to outstanding poor students in the province./.
