Nearly 600 Cambodian students return to Vietnam to study

Nearly 600 Cambodians have entered Vietnam to continue their study at universities after long school-off period for COVID-19 prevention and control.

The information was released by Major Nguyen Minh Tuan, Head of Moc Bai International Border Gate Control Station, Moc Bai International Border Guard Station, on July 15th.

Moc Bai International Border Guard Station has collaborated with functional agencies to strictly implement measures for COVID-19 prevention and control to ensure the health and safety of Cambodian students at Moc Bai International Border Gate.

Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chay Navuth highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnamese authorities to create favorable conditions for Cambodian students to return to school soon.

“First of all, I would like to thank senior leaders and the authorities of the two countries for enabling Cambodian students to return to study in Vietnam. This is a testament to the comprehensive and mutually supportive cooperation between the two countries. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic, the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam have always supported Cambodia in the pandemic prevention,” said the Ambassador.

According to Ambassador Chay Navuth, the number of Cambodian students coming to Vietnam to study every year is increasing in quantity and quality. The number of Cambodian students currently studying in Vietnam is about 4,000, of which 800 are on scholarships./.
