After more than one month of implementing the campaign on measles-rubella vaccination in 58 provinces and cities nationwide, more than 4.8 million of children aged from 1 to 14 were provided free measles-rubella vaccines.

Many provinces have given priority to remote and mountainous areas, ethnic-inhabited areas and border areas because healthcare workers met resistance in encouraging children to be injected, organizing places to conduct the vaccinations, as well as difficulties with the transportation and preservation of the vaccines.

To continue the implementation of the campaign, the Ministry of Health instructed units to provide vaccinations timely, promote the effective distribution of instructions and supervision at grassroots medical establishments and promote dissemination to encourage local people to take children to be injected.

The campaign was implemented in September this year and is planned to run until February 2015, targeting 23 million children between 1 and 14 years old, the group with the highest risk of contracting the illnesses throughout the nation./.
