Presenting 2,000 scholarships to outstanding poor students in Nam Dinh

Addressing the ceremony, chairman of Nam Dinh provincial Association for Promoting Education Nguyen Phu Hau said that the scholarship presentation aimed to encourage students from disadvantaged families to overcome difficulties to study and strive to make contributions to building a studying society. He added that this was also an opportunity for authorities, committees, agencies, enterprises and benefactors to show their care for the cause of educational and to ease difficulties for poor students.

Mr. Hau also said that over recent years, the association has mobilized over VND209 billion to present thousands of scholarships to outstanding poor students. VND87 billion of it supported poor students and awarded outstanding teachers.

The association also presented nearly 4,000 scholarships to students. So far, all districts and city have maintained the education promotion funds. Many families established their own education promotion funds./.
