Providing free Internet for distance learning nationwide

The Ministry of Information and Communications will support and accompany the education sector in the COVID-19 fight with the motto “Stop going to school but do not stop learning”.

There have been 14 television channels broadcasting general education lectures; Many schools promote the application of learning management systems (LMS) to organize and manage online teaching and learning.

The ministry also said that 92/240 universities are applying online training methods. E-learning lectures of the Ministry of Education and Training are being exploited and used by teachers and students nationwide for free.

In addition, on March 26th, enterprises and units in the information and communications sector pledged to support the education and training sector in the anti-epidemic phase of COVID-19 as follows: Free broadcast of lectures appraised by the Ministry of Education and Training on television; Vietnamese telecommunications businesses and social networks supported to send messages to tens of millions of students and teachers and all related people across the country on important notices of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Mobile telecommunications businesses will provide free data access for students and teachers related to distance learning programs; VNPT and Viettel will provide free support for training solutions and educational management to all 43,000 schools, and free server rental service and bandwidth for distance learning for universities./.
