School symbolizes friendship between people of Vietnam and DPRK

In the national atmosphere of preparing for the upcoming DPRK - US Summit in Hanoi, the Vietnam - DPRK Kindergarten is receiving the attention of domestic and foreign mass media as it is considered one of hallmarks for Vietnam - DPRK friendship relation.

State-level diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) were established on January 31st, initiated by the two leaders, President Ho Chi Minh and Kim Il Sung.

The Vietnam - DPRK kindergarten was established on March 8th, 1978 at Trung Tu Collective Zone, Dong Da district, Hanoi under the sponsor of DPRK.

On an area of nearly 4,000m2, at first time, there were four classes with 120 children from 3 to 5 years old. So far, the school has been expanded with 17 classrooms and 11 functional rooms, welcoming 470 children.

On the occasion of DPRK - US Summit, visiting the school, visitors will see teachers and children in traditional clothes of Vietnam and DPRK. Children can perform songs and express greetings in Korean language.

Teacher Minh Ha who had made three visits to DPRK said that she was very impressed with DPRK and its people. She remembered in April 2009, the school managing board visited a kindergarten in DPRK.

She said that not only on these days, the kindergarten has activities to show the friendship of the two countries, but also every day, children are introduced the culture, flag and traditional clothes of DPRK. She hoped that the summit would obtain good results, contributing to creating peace atmosphere to people of DPRK./.
