The event welcomed 150 volunteers of Canon Social & Culture Volunteer Network and 50 local students.

The project not only contributes to the protection of low-belt forest ecosystem, but also raises awareness about environmental protection among the youth with practical activities and strongly connects the youth movement and enterprises through meaningful social activities. This is the eighth year that the planting forest cooperation project of Canon Vietnam is deployed in Ben En National Park, with the total area of newly planted forest growing to 150 hectares (all Erythrophleum fordii).

"Through this project, I do hope students and members of the local Youth Union will raise awareness of environmental protection, plant trees together to create green lungs for the Earth. The young trees we plant are not only for us, but also for generations of our descendants. This will be the most precious gift we can leave for future generations”, said Mr. Minoru Niimura, General Director of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd.

Under the motto “Green - Clean - Nice environment” and social sustainable development, through social activities such as planting forest "For a green Vietnam” environmental protection popularization program, and marking “World Environmental Day”, the Company has contributed significantly for a healthier environment and raising awareness of people about environmental preservation and protection in the nation.

So far, the Japanese funded project has been implemented on over 250 hectares of protected forest in Thanh Hoa, Yen Bai and Bac Giang provinces, and in future will be expanded further, contributing to bring green throughout the country./.
