Vietnamese students win three gold medals at 2018 International Biology Olympiad

According to the Department of Quality Management under Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnamese students won three golds and one silver at the 29th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2018) in Iran.

The gold medalists were awarded to Nguyen Phuong Thao from the High School for the Gifted under University of Science, VNU-Hanoi; Tran Thi Minh Anh from Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, the northern port city of Hai Phong; and Hoang Minh Trung from Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa province.

The silver medal went to Hoang Van Dong from Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, the northern province of Hai Duong.

Phuong Thao had the highest points and became the first winner of the contest. Minh Anh came in at the 9th place, while Minh Trung 19th and Van Dong 64th.

The Olympiad held in Tehran capital from July 15th to 21st, drew 261 students from 71 countries and territories. /.
