Vietnamese students win two silvers at 2019 Asian Physics Olympiad

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnamese students won two silvers, five bronzes and one certificate of merit at the 20th Asian Physics Olympiad in Australia from May 5th to 13th.

Vietnam’s team ranked fifth, after China, Russia, Israel and Taiwan (China).

Two silver medalists are Trinh Duy Hieu and Nguyen Xuan Ung, 12th graders from Bac Giang province’s High School for Gifted Students and High School for Gifted Students under the University of Science, Vietnam National University, VNU-Hanoi, respectively.

Five bronze medals won by Le Viet Hoang from Ha Nam province, Nguyen Khanh Linh from Thanh Hoa, Le Cong Minh Hieu from Thua Thien - Hue province, Nguyen Xuan Tan and Tran Xuan Tung from Hanoi.

Le Quang Huy from Bien Hoa received a certificate of merit.

This year's Olympiad drew the participation of 22 countries and territories, including two 5-hour long exams of university standard, one theory and one practical./.
