(CPV) - Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) under the Vietnam Military-run Telecommunications Group said it has reduced 94% roaming charges for its subscribers in seven network members.
They are Natcom/Haiti, Movitel/Mozambique, Bitel/Peru, Telemor/Timor-lester, Halotel/Tanzania, Lumitel/Burundi, and Nexttel/Cameroon.
Accordingly, subscribers should pay VND20 instead of VND307 for each 10KB. They also enjoy a “soft price” of VND7,500/minute for calling to Vietnam as well as receiving domestic call; VND1,500 instead of VND4,840 for each message; and VND15,000 instead of VND27,500 per minute for international call. All prices include VAT.
Subscribers are likely to turn off data roaming and connection features when going abroad due to high roaming charges. Therefore, the charge reductions will promote the use of data services, leading to an increase in mobile carriers’ revenues.
Before traveling, they should send CVQT to 138 or download Viettel roaming application at http://roaming.vn/app.
Earlier, Viettel has applied the roaming charge among three Indochinese countries equivalent to the domestic charge since January 1st, 2017.
