Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund - Lighting up dreams

Over the past 20 years, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has received the support of more than 5,000 benefactors with a total budget of VND373 billion and given strength to nearly 85,000 children to go to school, helping them light up their dreams.

On June 11th, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund held a press briefing on a program in celebration of 70th anniversary of fallen soldier Vu A Dinh’s sacrifice (June 15th) and the 20th founding anniversary of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund.

Former Vice State President and chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund Truong My Hoa presided over the press briefing. Accordingly, the program will take place in the morning of June 15th in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mrs. Hoa said that the fund gives away 5,000 scholarships every year to outstanding ethnic minority students in mountainous areas and 3,000 scholarships to students living on islands.

Director of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund Nguyen Duc Quang said that since 2009, the fund has expanded projects such as nurturing the future, opening paths to the future, giving wings to your dreams and brighten the future, to train young human resources for mountainous and island areas.

Over the past 10 years, projects have received a grant of VND270 billion to build 146 houses, 29 bridges in rural areas, 16 schools, 6 roads and given support to the poor, ethnic people, fishermen, naval soldiers on duty on the islands and thousands of students and students from 36 ethnic groups in 55 provinces and cities throughout the country. So far, 127 individuals from 36 ethnic groups and 71 collectives have been presented the Vu A Dinh Award./.
