100% of Central Highlands communes have access to national grid

So far 100% of communes and 99.29% of villages in the Central Highlands have been connected with the national power grid, with 98.2% of households having used power safely, the Central Highlands Steering Committee has reported.

Over the past years, the State has invested tens of thousands of VND to build the power lines leading power to communes and villages, better serving local residents’ production and ensuring security and defence in the region. 

In particular, diverse programs on power supply have been carried out for the Central Highlands region, with 100% of support given to build up the domestic power system in for beneficiaries’ and poor ethnic minority families, as well as those in remote and border areas.

The Dak Lak provincial Power Company has mobilized diverse resources to upgrade and build the power system, with a focus on expanding the power system in rural, remote and ethnic minority-inhabited regions.

Since 2011, the Company has spent over VND800 billion constructing and upgrading the power network serving production and people’s daily lives, contributing to accelerating poverty reduction, and increasing improving local residents’ material and spiritual lives.

At present, the province is managing and operating over 8,600 kilometres of power lines, and 4,135 transformer stations with the capacity of nearly 849,000 kVA.

As planned, from now until 2025, Dak Nong province will invest VND2.236 trillion to build additional over 2,000 kilometres of additional power lines and 1,000 transformer stations with a capacity of 130,000 kVA; and install nearly 55,000 power metres for local residents’ families./.
