Bac Kan province gives production loans to 2,100 families

In 2018, the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan is investing over VND800 billion in sustainable poverty reduction programs.

Since the beginning of this year, the programs have helped over 2,100 have access to production loans, created jobs for 3,370 laborers, provided medical insurance to over 196,500 people, given educational fee support and exemption as well as food to more than 17,200 pupils, and distributed newspapers and magazines to over 6,700 people.

At present, diverse poverty reduction programs are being carried out in the province, covering production support, vocational training and job creation, healthcare, education, housing, legal and information assistance, and direct support, aiming to raise poor people’s income and living standards.

All the efforts target poverty reduction by 2%-2.5% in 2018./.
