Blood donation campaign receives over 9,300 units

The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) on June 27th reported that this year’s blood donation campaign, Red Journey, has been organized in 10 provinces and cities, receiving over 9,300 units of blood.

Meanwhile, from June 28th to July 14th, the campaign will continue to take place in 16 other sites.

According to Bach Quoc Khanh, Head of the NIHBT and head of the campaign, it contributes to make great change in blood donation, from scale, communications and professional work.

The organizing committee has encouraged youngsters to study thalassemia, contributing to preventing the disease in the next generations and increasing the quality of Vietnamese population.

Started from June 13th, the journey is expected to collect at least 30,000 units of blood.

After 5 years, it has become a large communications campaign on blood donation across the country, receiving 120,000 units of blood and helping deal with shortages of blood during summer, thus bringing vitality for thousands of patients in need./.
