Cash and rice provided for fishermen affected by fish die-off

The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) on May 18th presented VND5 billion and 25 tons of rice to fishermen and aquaculture producers who bear losses caused by the massive fish die-off in the central province of Thua Thien- Hue.

According to Dang Van Quang, President of the Agribank Trade Union, the activity aims to share the difficulties of fishermen and help the bank’s customers promptly overcome hardship, stabilise their lives and resume production.
The same assistance has been given to three provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
In addition, the bank has carried out a program giving preferential interest rate loans for customers affected by the phenomenon, exempting all the interest for the current outstanding balance of affected fishermen, and adjusting the time for payment of loan principal for fishermen./.
