According to acting Minister Long, the Da Nang city health sector has mastered technologies on tracing, isolating, testing and treating COVID-19 patients. After nearly one month, Da Nang city has conducted tests on nearly 90,000 samples, detecting 356 positive cases.

In Hai Duong province, 12 cases have been reported, all relating to a restaurant at No. 36 Ngo Quyen Street in Hai Duong city. However, the outbreak has been controlled as no new cases have been discovered over the past 2 days.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has continued to work with localities to trace F1, F2 and those who came to the restaurant in Hai Duong since July 25th; while authorized agencies have kept going on the isolation and expansion of F2 and those who returned from Da Nang, as well as people who have the symptoms of respiratory problems. At present, Hai Duong is capable of testing 2,000-3,000 samples per day.

During the meeting, representatives from the MoH said that as COVID-19 was undergoing complex changes in different countries all over the world, the research and production of vaccines received great attention from international organizations and nations. Accordingly, the MoH has actively carried out vaccine research and development domestically. Currently, 4 domestic producers are conducting COVID-19 vaccine research, including the Company for Vaccine and Biological Production No.1 (VABIOTECH), the Centre for Research and Production of Vaccine and Biological Products (POLYVAC), the Institute for Vaccine and Biological Products (IVAC) and the NANOGEN Company.

The MoH has also been maintaining close connections with other countries such as Russia, the UK and the US that are conducting vaccine research and development.

“The MoH is actively linking with different sources of vaccines for helping residents have access to vaccines in the quickest, safest and most effective way,” MoH acting Minister Long said./.
