COVID-19 outbreaks under control

The COVID-19 outbreaks in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hai Duong localities have been brought under control, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

During its meeting on August 24, the committee said that to safely live with the pandemic, residents should limit their access outside; regularly wear a mask when going out, on public transport or at crowded places; and wash hands with soap, clean water or antiseptic solution.

The Ministry of Health was assigned to sum up COVID-19 prevention experience for training localities, issue a manual to guide safe coexistence in pandemic conditions. The Ministry of Health will coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training to issue a handbook on the pandemic prevention and control in schools.

The committee agreed to assign the Ministry of Health to review the entire system of machines and research projects for bio-product production; to work out plans for localities to coordinate with each other in medical sampling and testing to save the society's resources.

According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam continues to implement measures to prevent and control the pandemic in new normal conditions, to respond quickly to outbreaks and reduce the number of infections and deaths.

As of August 25 morning, 1,022 cases were reported in Vietnam, with 588 patients having been given the all-clear while the death toll was 27./.
