So said Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee, during a meeting held on November 21st to review the coordination in organizing the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
According to Mr. Tuan, during nearly three years of preparation, Da Nang city did its utmost to complete the international airport, the International Media Centre, conventions centres, hotels and key roads. “All the constructions have proved their efficiency when providing best services for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week,” he said.
In addition, authorized agencies, security, healthcare, army, aviation and related agencies carried out plans to ensure security, healthcare work, social order, traffic safety, fire-fighting work and aviation security. Accordingly, absolute security was ensured for APEC member economies’ leaders, together with 10,000 delegates, including 2,000 entrepreneurs, and nearly 3,000 domestic and foreign journalists.
“The most important thing is that Da Nang city’s people left a deep impression on delegates’ hearts,” Mr. Tuan added, stressing that all classes of people, from pupils, students to agencies’ staff and taxi divers, showed their hospitality, practised polite and cultural communication, actively responded to “Da Nang Smile” Campaign, and carried out environmental protection campaigns.
Addressing the meeting, Truong Quang Nghia, Secretary of the city Party Committee, suggested that the success of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week should be promoted by specific action programs in order to create a driving force for the city’s rapid and sustainable development in the future.
