During the workshop, French businesses were provided with specific preferential and investment promotion policies of Da Nang city, as well as a list of projects waiting for investment to the Da Nang Hi-tech Zone, which is the third of its kind, after the two in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, covering an area of over 1,100 hectares.

With dominant advantages in geographic location and investment environment, the Da Nang Hi-tech Zone has become a good place for investment in the central and Central Highlands regions, and a centre linking industrial and economic zones in the central region of Vietnam.

Da Nang city has an international airport and seaport systems, with synchronous technical, economic, service, traffic and social infrastructure, and increasingly high quality of life. Situated some 20 kilometres from the city centre, the Da Nang Hi-tech Zone will be developed into a science and technology urban area with an environment friendly living environment.

Phung Tan Viet, Head of the Da Nang Hi-tech Zone Authority, said that the zone will be willing to welcome businesses for long-term investment.

He stressed that the zone is not only open for businesses producing hi-tech products, but also attracts businesses using hi-tech to produce daily products such as garment and textile and sports products.

For his part, Michel Jonqueres, MEDEF President, expressed his impression of a dynamically developed Da Nang city.

According to Mr. Michel Jonqueresm with smooth administrative procedures, Da Nang city and the zone can serve investors from the beginning of project study to operation.

He added he was optimistic about investment cooperation between the two sides, especially when Da Nang had been chosen to host the APEC Summit Week in November with the participation of leaders from 21 economies and thousands of official delegates, together with leaders from world leading businesses.

At present, the zone provides an initial 300 hectares of land equipped with adequate infrastructure for projects. In particular, the projects will enjoy the highest preferential policies in taxation and land hire.

In the first half of 2017, the zone attracted 7 projects with a capital of USD158 million./.
