Da Nang city ensures safe power supply for APEC

All power constructions serving the high-level Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Da Nang city will be completed in July, said Ngo Tan Cu, Director of the city Power Company.

APEC 2017, which will be held in Da Nang city in November, will present over 100 meetings, gathering leaders from 21 economies together with representatives from some 1,000 large businesses of the world and 6,000 international reporters.

This is considered the largest event to be held in Da Nang city, which and is expected to bring opportunities for the city’s future development.

In 2017, each day, the Da Nang city Power Company has to complete work invested by over VND1 billion, striving to complete all projects ahead of the third quarter this year, ensuring a safe power supply to servinge APEC.

The total investment capital for power constructions serving APEC reaches VND1.1 trillion.

As the successive and safe power supply for APEC meetings and related events is very important, in September, Da Nang city will organize a simulation in which a power cut-off is reported across the city and the power sector must ensure immediate power connection for APEC activities.

Recently, the city Power Company has worked with the city Department of Information and Communications to agree on a plan to arrange an information cable system serving APEC./.
