Da Nang city: Over 1,200 people donate blood

On January 15th, Red Sunday, the largest blood donation program of a year, took place in Da Nang city, attracting over 1,200 members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, cadres and officers.
Despite the bad weather, a large number of blood donors attended the event.

Donors underwent medical check-ups before donating blood.

Le Dinh Quang Phuc, President of the Association of Students of the Da Nang University of Economics,
said that the university’s students always care about humanitarian programs,
 and donating blood has become a tradition of the students.

Many students from different areas joined the blood donation event.

Young individuals from military and public security force

Donating blood is a very useful activity as it helps save people’s lives.

According to Da Nang city’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Da Nang city reported the largest number of blood donors across the country. In 2016, the city’s youth donated over 23,000 units of blood, satisfying the demand for first-aid and treatment in medical foundations. 

There are currently over 650 members in 20 blood donation teams and clubs.

Nearly 1,000 units of blood were collected during the day, bringing the total number of blood units collected at 9th Red Sunday activities in the city to 3,540.
