Accordingly, it will spend over VND5.2 billion giving presents to 15,500 wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, fallen soldiers’ families and persons with meritorious service to the revolution in marking the Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers (July 27th).

Local People’s Committees have been urged to carry out activities paying debts of gratitude, caring for the lives of persons with meritorious service to the revolution, and commemorating fallen soldiers at cemeteries.

Meanwhile, authorized agencies have been urged to better realize policies for wounded and sick soldiers, entitlement policy families and the families of persons with meritorious service to the revolution; assist the lives of poor families; and maintain the target of giving assistance to 100% of Vietnam Hero Mothers.

According to the Dak Lak provincial Department of Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs, over the past years, the lives of persons with meritorious service to the revolution have been remarkably improved by paying debts of gratitude.

In 2017 alone, the province mobilized over VND9.3 billion to the fund for paying debts of gratitude, helping upgrade and repair 92 houses of gratitude, build 115 houses of gratitude, and provide 163 savings books to entitlement policy individuals.

In the first half of 2018 alone, the fund contributes to repairing and upgrading 9 houses of gratitude and building 10 others./.
