The Dien Bien provincial steering committee on voluntary blood donation on July 3rd responded to the national blood donation campaign "Red Journey" attracting 536 donors and expecting to collect some 378 units of blood.

According to Le Van Quy, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee, voluntary blood donation has become a regular activity in his province, helping to reduce deaths due to lack of blood.
He added that the province would strive to develop a living blood bank for the donors to donate blood at any time; and build up a bank of members with scarce blood groups to serve patients in need.
Over the past years, blood donation has been promoted in the locality through different programs. Last year, it collected over 4,200 units of blood, while over 2,200 units were donated in the first half of 2018./.
