The Border Post of the Tay Trang International Border Gate and the Dien Bien provincial Border Guards on December 5th seized Giang Thi Dua for illegally transporting 24,000 tablets of ecstasy.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Ba Long, from the headquarters of the Dien Bien provincial Border Guards, said that Giang Thi Dua, born in 1961, from Tin Lan hamlet, Nua Ngam commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, was arrested while transporting the drugs from the Vietnam-Laos border region.
She concealed 120 packages of drugs in a bamboo papoose on her back, as a farmer, and she was arrested while walking to Na U hamlet
Apart from the drugs, the authorities also seized a mobile phone to be used to connect with her accomplices.
The case is under further investigation./.
