In the election of deputies of the 14th National Assembly (NA) and People's Council at all levels for the 2016-2021 period, three communes of Lai Chau province, including Ta Ba, Ta Tong and Mu Ca of Muong Te border district, will organize early election.
The election in these three communes will be organized on May 15th, seven day earlier than the national election day.
The three communes have especially difficult conditions, with large areas, high mountain terrain dissected by many rivers and streams, difficulties in travel in rainy season, and population widely dispersed; the distance between some communes and the centre of Muong Te district is over 120km.
In particular, the distance between polling stations in hamlets and the centre of the communes is quite far, meanwhile the communication system is not ensured so it affects the progress and quality of collection of the results of the election and the voting process of voters.
The three communes have over 6,000 voters, most belonging to the ethnic minorities of Mong, La Hu and Ha Nhi.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Tang, Head of the provincial Department of Home Affairs and standing member of the provincial election committee, said Lai Chau province has 13 election units at the provincial level, 61 at the district level and 623 at the communal level.
So far, the number of election unit, list of election unit and the number of candidates have been fixed and announced.
