Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Le Huu Phuoc, member of the Standing Board of the Binh Duong provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee Commission for Popularization and Education, said that the Party determines the revolutionary press is a sharp weapon and an effective tool in mobilizing, communicating and encouraging the revolutionary movement. In which, Party newspapers from the central to local levels play a pivotal role. The Directive 11 of the Politburo term 8 and Conclusion 29-KT/TW of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat term 11 on August 25th, 2012, confirm buying and reading Party newspapers not only affirms their ideology and political orientation, but also shows the confidence and heightens the responsibility of Party newspapers in Vietnam’s press system.

He also added that with the complicated changes of the world situation, and the explosion of information technology in the society; reactionary and hostile forces are enhancing use of mass media and social networks to sabotage and disturb information. Therefore, it is essential to have accurate and timely information provided through Party newspapers, which are always followed by officials, Party members and people.

Party newspapers are also an information channel for officials, Party members and people to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement viewpoints, guidelines, policies and laws of the Party, State and localities. However, the number of copies of printed Party newspapers, especially local Party newspapers, tends to decrease.

Therefore, it is necessary to find solutions to bring Party newspapers to grassroots levels, which both strengthen communication of the Party to grassroots levels and ensure finance for the press agencies to maintain and develop.

"I welcome the initiative of the Binh Duong Newspaper for organizing the seminar for leaders of Party newspapers in the Southeastern region and Ho Chi Minh City to share experiences to find appropriate directions and measures to the current situation of localities," Mr. Le Huu Phuoc said.

Mr. Le Tien Tuyen, Vice Editor-in-chief of of Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, shared that to bring his newspaper to the grassroots levels effectively, it requires the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Party committees at all levels and great efforts of the newspaper in maintaining relations with the Party Committee Commissions for Popularization and Education of the city and districts.

Mr. Van Cong Canh, Editor-in-Chief of the Tay Ninh newspaper, said that on average, each edition of the Tay Ninh newspaper releases 15,000 copies. The newspaper has carried out a survey in border and remote communes and found that more than 80% of the population of these communes do not have Party newspapers to read.

Then the Tay Ninh newspaper proposed that the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee to find solutions to bring Party newspapers to these communes. Through that, officials, Party members and people can improve their awareness on guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, especially steerage and direction of the provincial Party Committee and provincial People’s Committee./.
