The information was announced by Nguyen Hong Sam, Head of the Newspaper’s Representative Office in Can Tho city, during a press conference on August 13th.

According to Mr. Sam, each locality will receive 100 scholarships (worth VND3 million each) sponsored by the LienViet Post Bank, helping poor and disadvantaged pupils as well as young talents in diverse areas develop themselves and enjoy an equitable educational environment.

Established in 2012, the fund aims to increase education quality at the communal level, contributing to realizing Party and State as well as educational sector guidelines, view-points and measures on education and training, helping society have better awareness of the road to educational development, and creating determination and will in training the young generation.

Over the past years, some pupils in the Mekong River Delta have had to drop out of schools due to their disadvantaged circumstances. Therefore, the fund will encourage poor pupils to study well, for better social welfare and for the development of an intellectual society./.
