Funeral held for martyrs who died in military aircraft accident

The Air Defence and Air Forces Arm and the Air Forces Brigade 918 on June 30th solemnly held a funeral to say goodbye to 9 members of the CASA-212 crew who sacrificed during an aircraft accident when seeking their comrade Tran Quang Khai who died on a training mission on the Su-30 MK2 on June 14th.

The nation’s leaders, together with their relatives, comrades and people came to the funeral hall of the Ministry of National Defence, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, to make their last farewell to the martyrs.

A delegation from the Central Military Party Committee led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who is also the Secretary of the Central Military Party Committee, paid homage to the martyrs and condoled with their families.

After that, State President Tran Dai Quang, former State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyen Thien Nhan, paid homage to the martyrs.

Writing on the funeral book, the leaders showed deep mourning to the martyrs, praised their heroic sacrifice to the nation, marking that the nation and people would never forget their contributions.

The martyrs cremated at the Thanh Tri district’s crematorium.
