Government assists 12 localities with over 10,000 tons of rice

The Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Finance to take 10,400 tons of rice from the national reserves to allocate to the 12 localities of Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Ha Nam, Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Lao Cai, Ninh Thuan, Dak Nong, Kon Tum and Quang Ngai.

Of which, over 8,000 tons of rice will be distributed to 11 localities to support residents during the 2017 lunar New Year festival (Tet). Accordingly, the rice will be provided to Yen Bai province (397 tons), Cao Bang (over 625 tons), Ha Nam (over 418 tons), Tuyen Quang (over 310 tons), Thanh Hoa (650 tons), Nghe An (over 1,766 tons), Quang Tri (nearly 1,500 tons), Lao Cai (nearly 249 tons), Ninh Thuan (over 1,100 tons), Dak Nong (400 tons), and Kon Tum (over 577 tons).
The remaining amount of rice will be used to assist residents in the central province of Quang Ngai who may face hunger during Tet, and hunger caused by natural disasters and diseases./.
