Hanoi gives assistance worth VND103 billion to entitlement policy individuals

Hanoi is expected to spend over VND103 billion to assist entitlement policy individuals and persons with meritorious service to the revolution, in marking the 71st anniversary of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Fallen Soldiers (July 27th).

Accordingly, Vietnam Hero Mothers, wounded soldiers and those enjoying policies for wounded soldiers and having lost 21% or more of theirworking ability; sick soldiers who lost 41% or more of theirworking ability; fallen soldiers’ representatives; and resistance war activists infected with toxic chemicals and enjoying allowances will be presented gifts worth VND1 million each.

Meanwhile, representatives from families who worship fallen soldiers will receive presents worth VND500,000 each; 42 outstanding foundations in caring for and nursing persons with meritorious service to the revolution, as well as wounded soldiers’ outstanding business foundations, will be provided with presents worth VND11 million each.

Six delegations led by the city’s leaders will be set up to visit and give presents to outstanding collectives and individuals; and pay homage to fallen soldiers at national cemeteries in different localities.

Hanoi is one of localities leading in the number of persons with meritorious service at nearly 800,000 persons, accounting for nearly 10% of the nation’s. Over the past years, it has mobilized resources to give material and spiritual assistance to entitlement policy families.

In the first half of this year alone, 2,450 savings books worth over VND3 billion have been presented to entitlement policy families, and 296 entitlement policy families’ houses have been upgraded./.
