Hanoi: Nearly 500 disadvantaged youngsters given vocational training

Three years after the implementation of the disadvantaged youth vocational training project in Hanoi, nearly 500 disadvantaged pupils have been provided with vocational training; more than 1,500 trainees have received soft skills training and nearly 1,700 others have had access to work safety training.

The project, which aimed to provide decent work and better life for youth, was sponsored by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by Plan International in Vietnam from September 2015 to this June at the Industrial Vocational College Hanoi and the College of Urban Works Construction, using a capital of over VND39 billion.

During the project closing ceremony held on June 12th, representatives from sponsors said that the project had given general and comprehensive support in terms of materials, teachers’ ability and training curriculum, creating a higher quality educational environment, satisfying the demand of the labor market and the aspirations of the youth.

The project supported two colleges set up and develop the network of 100 businesses, including 50 working in automobile services and the others in constructions, in order to assist the training and recruitment of laborers./.
