Hanoi: Nearly 6,000 individuals in non-State businesses admitted to Party

Over the past 5 years, 886 Party organizations have been established in non-State businesses and 5,964 individuals in non-State businesses have been admitted to the Party, bringing the number of Party members in non-State businesses in Hanoi to 26,455.

The figures were provided by the Hanoi Party Committee during a meeting held on March 9th to review the implementation of Resolution 09/NQ/TU on increasing the building of the Party and unions in non-State businesses.

The city Party Committee also revealed that nearly 2,000 trade unions, 681 organizations of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation, and 151 women’s unions had also been established in non-State businesses over the past 5 years.

According to the city Party Committee, 5 years after the implementation of the Resolution, the quality of operation of Party organizations and unions in non-State businesses in the city has seen remarkable improvement, contributing to stabilizing production in businesses, creating jobs and ensuring income for labourers, and building harmonious relations in businesses.

From now until 2020, the city will strive to establish an additional 600-650 Party organizations, 1,700-1,800 trade unions, 900-1,000 youth organizations, and 50-60 women’s unions.

Addressing the meeting, Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Organization, praised the efforts of the Hanoi Party Committee in Party and union building in non-State businesses, especially in the current strong development of private businesses and foreign investment attraction.

He urged the city Party Committee to increase the quality of Party organizations, and make stricter links between Party members and organizations with the operation of businesses, in order to harmonise the benefits between the Party, business owners and labourers.

Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, also asked Party Executive Committees to expand the dissemination of the Resolution, increase ideological and political education in building Party members in businesses, and study to renew the leadership by Party organizations in non-State businesses./.
