Reports from the city Department of Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs show that over 41,600 labourers got jobs thanks to loans worth some VND860 billion from the national fund for employment, while 3,250 others went to work abroad.

According to the Hanoi Center for Employment Services, 109 work fairs were organized, attracting 6,075 businesses, helping 50,000 people to access employment consultancy and 25,000 others to be employed.

The city’s unemployment rate of 1.91% is considered rather low compared to the 2.41% urban unemployment rate. Last year, the city gave unemployment rate insurance worth VND974 billion to 54,600 people and vocational training support worth over VND6.7 billion to over 2,200 people.

Statistics from the city Department of Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs also reported that, as of late 2018, the city’s poverty rate was estimated at 1.16%, with 4 districts free from poor families./.
