Hanoi: Various activities to support workers during Lunar New Year of Monkey

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) of the Monkey, the Hanoi Federation of Labor and trade unions of industrial parks have paid attention to employees, who leave their homeland to work in industrial parks (IPs) and export processing zones (EPZs).

Companies in IPs and EPZs have increased the minimum wage from January 2016 for employees under the provisions of the Government. In addition to basic salary, companies also pay other allowances for employees such as: allowance for industry, diligence, housing and fuel for transportation. So far, no company has salary debt for their employees.

Mr. Pham Dung, Vice head of the labor Department of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Authority (HIZA) said that  under a report of the companies in IPs and EPZs, with the total of basic salary and allowances, the average income of employees in IPs and EPZs is VND5.655 million per month. While the average Tet bonus is about VND6.2 million per person.

Besides, companies also present Tet gifts, worth VND500,000 each, to the employees.

The Hanoi Federation of Labor and trade unions of IPs and EPZs will present 1,200 coach tickets to workers in difficult circumstances to go their homeland for Tet.

In addition, the trade unions of the IPs and EPZs also presented Tet gifts worth VND300,000 - VND1 million to the workers./.
