There are over 700 households in Moc Chau district in the northern mountainous province of Son La which are raising over 18,000 dairy cows, producing 67,000 tons of milk per year.

Moc Chau district has developed a herd of over 18,000 dairy cows.

Breeders prepare dry grass for the cows’ food reserves.

To increase the quality of dairy cows, apart from following the Good Agriculture Practice (VietGAP) standards, Moc Chau district encourages breeders to cooperate with the Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Joint Stock Company and plant maize to feed the cows. The breeders are also encouraged to build a tourism farm.

A great number of traders come to the farm to collect milk.

Over the past years, milk production businesses in Moc Chau district have focused on investing in technology to provide the best quality milk for the market.

As planned until 2020, Moc Chau district will expand the cow herd to 30,000, grass plantation to 1,810 hectares and 3,700 hectares of plant for cow food across 8 localities./.
